Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) remains a significant public health challenge in Nigeria, considering the prevalent high maternal and child mortality rates.

At Medela Health, we are committed to addressing this especially important public health challenge through innovative, holistic evidence-based, culturally sensitive, and community-led interventions. Maternal, Newborn and Child Health promotion is the cornerstone of family well-being and a critical public health issue.

Recognising the urgent need to address the poor MNCH indices in Nigeria through impactful interventions, solutions, we have launched the Medela Maternal, Newborn and Child Health Programme, a comprehensive initiative that is tailored to empower individuals, their families, social support groups and communities, and primary health care workers equip professionals to address Maternal, Newborn and Child Health needs effectively thereby achieving the desired results in the national Maternal, Newborn and Child Health indices.

This programme is designed to provide information on how best to address the existing gaps in the delivery of these key services relating to the promotion of Maternal, Newborn and Child Health in Nigeria, in partnership with healthcare organisations, NGOs, and government agencies concerned with addressing Maternal, Newborn and Child Health issues. such as: women's health during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, as well as care of the newborn, breastfeeding practices, childhood immunization uptake, nutrition, growth monitoring, prevention and treatment of childhood illnesses.

Our working in partnership and collaboration with communities as well as health care providers at the Local, State and National levels, will ensue that those factors militating against the health and wellbeing of women and children and limiting the attainment of the health-related sustainable development goals (SDGs) are addressed through practical evidence-based interventions alongside the provision of online educational and capacity-building resources to educate mothers on how best to protect their health and that of their children.
